PSG College of Technology as a part of its Students induction Program organized a special interaction with Sylendra Babu IPS, DGP, Railways on 2.8.2019 in The Quadrangle of the college.
The freshmen of the college participated in the event. Addressing the students, he said that this interaction with them is significant for him. He introduced the students to some ideas and he mentioned that ideas are the currency of 21st century an idea can change a person’s world.
People should know what they want in life and where they have to go. And he congratulated the freshmen of PSG College of Technology and said “you don’t need anyone’s help because you already know where you want to go.”
He said that in any activity the beginning is more important than one can possibly imagine and stressed that a good starting will always give proper direction. He mentioned that they have to start exploring and experiencing.
He said that they have the opportunity to study in a very good educational institution and this opportunity is not given to so many people who wish to study engineering because of poverty. He asked them to have little compassion for those who couldn’t make it to college, and to contribute to their life by being merciful. Urging the students to have curiosity, he said “admitting that I don’t know” is a virtue.
He suggested the students to develop strong communication skills. He recommended reading lots of books and newspapers as they would help in developing communication skill and provide General Knowledge. He urged the students to develop a Cooperative spirit so that they can work better on larger goals. He wanted them to have proper critical thinking which will help them become competent individuals in the world.
He suggested the students to work hard and break from their comfort zones. He wanted them to give more importance to the stories of scientists’ inventions and technology and news about them that goes around the world every day and not just be dazzled by the movie stars and celebrities.
