Rotary conducts Tamil Essay Writing Competition

An initiative by Rotary G-38 Clubs of Coimbatore Region of RID 3201

The G-38 Rotary Clubs of RI District 3201 conducted Tamil Essay Writing Competition for school students on 20.7.2019 during the Coimbatore Book Festival that is going on presently in CODISSIA.

The competition was held in Hall C. Around 3,600 students from various school participated. The first 1000 students were given a voucher of Rs.200 each. The first five winners received cash prize and certificates from the Chief Guest Rtn. R.Madhav Chandran, District Governor, RI District 3201. Writer Vannanilavan was the Guest of Honor.

Rtn.M.Murugan, Dist.Director-RI 3201, Rtn.B.Vijayanand, Chairman, Coimbatore Book Festival 2019, Rtn.Dr.M.Irfan, Zonal Chair – Rotary Library & Computer Labs and Rtn.C.L.Mohan Naarayan, Zonal Chair – Literacy & Resource Pool graced the occasion with their presence.

During the event, to take to the public the value and awareness, of Rotary, A public Image building Initiative titled “One Car One Door” was taken up by Rtn.R S Maruti, Dist.Chairman, Public Image. It was unvieled by Rotary Dist Governor Rtn. R.Madhav Chandran. Around 50 cars were stickered with Rotary’s logo. Under this initiative, Rotarians will carry the sigil of Rotary International in their car’s door.
