The Installation of 44th President and the New office bearers for the current Rotary Year of Rotary Club of Coimbatore East a took place on 2.07.2019 in the COINDIA Auditorium.
K.Radhakrishnan IPS, Former Director General of Police, TN was the Chief Guest.
Rtn.Sathish Ravikumar, President of the Club 2018-2019 welcomed the gathering. He said that in all his efforts there was an outstanding support of the Club members. He thanked them.
An A.V. of the month-wise activity report of the club from July 2018- June 2019 was projected. Laudable social development activities like Food Donation, Medical Camp, Vocational Excellence Awards, Allied Wheels – an activity for which they received District Award for Public Image, Kerala Relief Contribution worth Rs.15 Lacs, Project Earth- Planting Saplings in Vadakanoor and more were done.
Introduction of Rtn.Srinivasan, President-Elect was made by Rtn. Sathis Ravikumar. He then administered the oath which was taken by Rtn.Srinivasan and with the transfer of the Presidential Collar by Rtn.Sathis, the former became the 44th President.
The new office bearers for the year 2019-20 are Srinivasan, President; Subbaraj, Vice President; Muthuswamy; Secretary, Govarrdhanagiri,Joint Secretary; R.K.Varadharajan, Treasurer; Prabhu Kesavan, Chair, Community Service; G.P.Sundarajan, Vocational Service Chair; Rajesh Chinnasamy, International Service Chair; Vasanth Raj, Youth Service Chair; Sanjeev, Chair for Rotary Foundation; Prof.E.Ramasamy – Bulletin Editor; Mathialagan, Seargent at Arms and Vijay Krishnan, Junior Sargent at Arms.
Following the Installation of office bearers, the Chairperson for various projects were announced and the bulletin was released.
Various projects that were initiated for the current year with NGOs were highlighted and members of the NGOs were honored with the provisions and donations.
The Chief Guest in his address briefly mentioned his deep association with Rotary which has benefited him in many times of life.
He appreciated and called Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary as a true incarnation of the divine for founding Rotary. He said “Harris created opportunity through which funds are coming from philanthropists confidently.” He appreciated the commitment of Rotary International which by its 1.2 million members has been making changes in the lives of millions.
He appreciated the club and gave the new office bearers his best wishes.
