Education should bring Awareness & Responsibility

Said, B.K.Krishnaraj Vanavaryar, Chairman, Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Coimbatore Kendra.

Kongunadu College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore celebrated its 46th College Day at Dr.Marappa G.Aruchami Auditorium located within the College premises. The Chief Guest on the occasion was B.K.Krishnaraj Vanavaryar, Chairman, Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Coimbatore Kendra. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dhanya Menon, Student Association President.

The Presidential Address was delivered by C.A.Vasuki, Secretary, KASC. In her Presidential Address, she first up welcomed all the dignitaries on and off the dais along with the staff and students present. “It is because of our past Principals, teachers and students who have strived hard for what this institution is today. I feel extremely privileged to invite Dr.Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman, Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Coimbatore Kendra. Education without value has no meaning. People like Krishnaraj Vanavarayar are very important to lead the youth of the country”.

The Annual report of the college was presented by V.Balasubramaniam, Principal, KASC. The annual report highlighted many important achievements of the college during the academic year 2018-19. The report read was like a budget.

The Chief Guest in his address said, “India has human resource, nature and culture but still India is going down, why? He asked the youngsters to think about it. Education should bring awareness and responsibility among the people. Schools and colleges should not be a factory that sends out students as machines”.

He further added, “While thinking about what language I shall speak in,your Secretary encouraged me to talk in Tamil. I have spoken in so many places but only when we talk in Tamil, will it reach far and wide. From the time KASC was started, there were lot of hurdles which came on the way and I have seen from close quarters as to how much effort have gone to bring the college to where it is now. In India, only 19 colleges have received the tag of ‘College of Excellence’ and out of those 19 colleges, Kongunadu is one of them. The line by line achievements of the college cannot be explained in brief”.

He also said, “On a lighter note, he said, I would also like to ask the Secretary to teach us on how to achieve the tag ‘College of Excellence’. This is not too big a campus, as per my knowledge, only recently, they have developed it but within this small place, by going through lots of pain, this college has achieved so much which makes me think as to how it is possible. Is it possible only by the thoughts of the administration, is it possible only by the thoughts of the students or is it possible to achieve all this by the Principal? No! It is possible, only when everyone comes together. I am very happy to have come here. G.Aruchami is a close friend of mine but unfortunately now he is not keeping well. Once upon a time, I have seen his efforts with my own eyes. I met him before coming here. Aruchami said, I have made a big mistake. I should have given the administration of this college to my daughter much earlier and the college would have been further developed. In just four years’ time, KASC will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee”.

Awards were presented for Best Department Award 2018-19. Students who performed well in the recently concluded competitions were also awarded with prizes and certificates. Professors who excelled in research were also awarded. The awards were given B.K.Krishnaraj Vanavaryar.

The Vote of thanks was proposed by A.A.Dharanidharan, Students’ General Secretary.
