KMCH’s programs on Anesthesia adds acumen to medics

Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH) organized ‘Anaesthesia Update – 2018’-  a conference on the recent developments in the field of Anesthesia and also conducted a seminar on Dexmedetomidine, a new sedative used for surgeries.

The event organized under the auspices of the Dept. of Anesthesia, KMCH took place at the hospital campus on 9th December 2018. Dr.N.Selvarajan, Organising Chairman, welcomed the delegates and participants. Dr. Subbaiah Chelliah, Organising Secretary, in his address said that the conference would be useful to the anesthesia experts as well as the students of anesthesia, besides being of practical usage in their day to day practice.

Dexmedetomidine, a very versatile drug in anesthesia practice, reduces the anxiety of the patients and help them undergo operations without pain and make them feel comfortable. It’s a new modality of sedation and analgesia in ICU patient management.

Dr. Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman, KMCH, in his address said that KMCH is committed to introduce, inform and update about the latest technological developments and advances in the medical field. Towards this end, the hospital periodically conducts conferences and seminars as part of continuing medical education. He appreciated the department of anesthesiology for its effort and hoped that the anesthesia experts derived maximum benefit out of this event. Over 150 medical professionals from Chennai, Pondicherry and various parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala participated in the conference.
