“Students should overcome their inhibitions and enthusiastically participate in arts, science, sports, and cultural competitions without dwelling excessively on the results. Winning isn’t always guaranteed, so students shouldn’t feel disheartened by losses. Simply taking part in a competition is a positive sign of progress and a significant achievement,” said B. Manimaran, Additional Superintendent of Police, Special Wing for Crime against Women and Children, Erode District, while addressing the students at the Thirukkural Vizha organized by Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam, in Erode. the event showcased talents in arts, science, sports, and culture.

Addressing participants, Manimaran highlighted the importance of resilience in the face of defeat, urging students not to lose confidence. The occasion also marked the selection of three students from Erode zone for the state-level Thirukkural Speech Competition to be held in Chennai.Congratulating winners and participants, Manimaran underscored the transformative power of participation in various fields. Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam’s annual Thirukkural speech competitions drew 363 students from Erode, Karur, and Namakkal. The winners advancing to the state-level competition are Kavinthra, Vishnuvardhan, and Dhanraj in the junior, senior, and college categories, respectively.

In addition to the speech competition, zonal-level essay writing and drawing contests showcased the diverse talents of 64 essayists and 169 artists.The event witnessed the participation of Sivanandan, Secretary, Sengunthar Educational Institutions; Velumani, Headmaster, Sengunthar Higher Secondary School; Kavitha, Headmistress, VVCRM Sengunthar Girls Higher Secondary School; Kesavan, Senior Zonal Manager, Shriram Chits, Erode District, and Chinnathurai, Manager, Shriram Chits, Erode.
