SSVM Institutions commenced the second edition of the three-day Transforming India Conclave 2023 with the theme of ‘Unleash the Power within You ’ at SSVM World School today. This conclave aims to empower and inspire the nation’s youth. The inaugural day witnessed esteemed guests, including Manimekalai Mohan, Founder, Managing Trustee and Correspondent of SSVM Institutions, Mohandoss, Trustee, SSVM, Srisha Mohandoss, Co-Founder of Ruh Early Years and the Director of Education at SSVM Institutions, Nitin Jeyendran, Director of Infrastructure at SSVM Institutions, District collector Kranti Kumar, Lieutenant General Ajai Kumar Singh AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, General Officer-Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Southern Command of the Indian Army and Sonam Wangchuk, Indian engineer, Innovator and Director of the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh. This event emphasized the pivotal role of India’s youth in driving the nation towards progress and prosperity.
Seeds of Change
In her welcome address, Manimekalai Mohan said “Transformation begins with us—the students, the teachers, the parents, and the institutions. We often point our fingers at others and say, ‘India must develop,’ but it is we who must initiate change. When taking the promotional video, the director made it clear that they did not want me to act but encouraged me to be myself. It was then I realized that all heroes are as they are, and we have many heroes in our country”.
Achieving transformation in India is undoubtedly a challenging endeavour, yet it becomes attainable through collective efforts. India has demonstrated that its knowledge is a formidable asset, often surpassing even the brightest minds in Silicon Valley. Remarkable accomplishments, such as successfully landing on the moon, serve as a testament to our capabilities, and we should take immense pride in these achievements.
Over 16 workshops have been conducted for students, addressing subjects like culinary skills, minimalistic living, and financial literacy. The emphasis is placed on instilling in students the belief that following their passion is the key to a stress-free life.
“Why do we focus on transforming India at the school level?” she continued, “Because schools serve as the fertile soil in which we plant the seeds of change. These seeds will germinate into a generation capable of positively shaping the world. We must ensure that our students do not look back with regret regarding their choices; instead, they should confidently embrace the paths they choose.”
A Journey of Discovery
Srisha Mohandoss took the stage to introduce District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, and shared insights on discovering one’s inner strength. Also, she emphasized the importance of showcasing the remarkable capabilities of their students, encapsulated by the theme, “Unleash the Power Within You.” This theme served as a rallying cry, reminding everyone of their potential to shape their future and make a genuine impact.
Reflecting on the challenges of being a young student in India, She acknowledged, “It’s during those challenging moments that we discovered our own strength and resilience.” She highlighted the incredible stories unfolding in the auditorium, featuring student entrepreneurs and inspirational educators, who demonstrated that dreams, coupled with hard work, can lead to extraordinary outcomes.
Addressing the young students, Srisha encouraged them, “Embrace the unknown, be open to trying new things, and forge your own path without fear.” She expressed gratitude to the teachers who ignited curiosity and ambition in the students, stating, “Your influence has left a profound impact on us.” She also extended her appreciation to families, acknowledging, “Your unwavering belief in us has been our foundation.”
She motivated that in today’s ever-evolving world, modern students must embody adaptability, innovation, and the ability to inspire those around them.
“Let’s continue writing stories of courage, and resilience and strive for excellence”, she concluded.
Lieutenant General Ajai Kumar Singh, reflecting on the event, said, “Inaugurating the Transforming India Conclave 2023 has been a privilege. In the keynote address of Sonam Wangchuk, he highlighted the significance of determination, innovation, and collective action in achieving success. And remarked, “Today, we embarked on a transformative journey at the Transforming India Conclave 2023. Determination, innovation, and collective action are the keys to our nation’s progress. Let us carry this motivation forward and work together to create a brighter future for India.”
