Delicious side Theni

India is a land of many cultures and diversities but did you also know that each part of India offers a new cuisine in its own style. We travel to Theni, a district located in Madurai region in Tamilnadu with paddy, cotton and tea production. It is because of its serene beauty that it is known as “The Earth’s Hidden Paradise”.

The traditional foods of Theni include Idly, Vada curry, Halva, Kari dosa, Jigarthanda, Biryani, Parotta, Fish curry, Varkey, Palkova, Panchamrutham, Sugar dosas, Milk bun with Jeera and many more with Panju parotta and idly being the most famous. During weekends there is huge queue at meat stalls, thanks to the people who like non-vegetarian dishes a lot.

One cannot miss the above dishes upon visiting Theni especially mutton chukka and kola urndai. It’s a place one can visit at any point in the year but winters would be best time.
