Coimbatore City Police to Develop Software for Recording Resident Details

The Coimbatore city police have planned to develop software to record the details of the people who stays in the places such as lodge, hostel, serviced apartments and mansions.

To brief about this initiative Balakrishnan, City Police Commissioner, along with Deputy Commissioners Shanmugam, Chandeesh, and Mathivanan organized a meeting last week with the representatives from serviced apartments, hostels lodges and Residents Welfare Associations.

The software allows the residents to upload their photos and other identities when they’re staying. Those documents will be viewed by the police department with jurisdiction. This reduces the risk of the owners visiting the police station in case of any issues. The purpose of this initiative was to strengthen the city’s network security.

According to the Police Commissioner, such meetings will be held every weekend and this serves as a platform to discuss about the issues like anti-social activities and crimes taking place in the locality.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the records of the people staying and also insisted the attendees to fix surveillance cameras in those places.
