Early on Wednesday, a SUV ran over 6 people who were waiting for bus in Sundarapuram. As per reports, this unfortunate incident occurred around 9.30 a.m. when a speeding Audi car that was coming from Pollachi to Coimbatore lost control and ran over 6 people who were standing at Iyer Hospital bus stand in Sundarapuram in the morning hours waiting for their bus. All the 6 were instantly killed. The impact of the collision did not stop with the car hitting 6 people as it extended to ram a parked auto rickshaw and a flower shop wounding 3 others as well. The driver did not suffer severe injuries because of the collision due to air bags. However, the public manhandled him after the incident. All the deceased were taken to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital while the surviving victims sought treatment in private hospitals.
