What appeared to be a mechanical failure in a vehicle soon turned out to be a massive catastrophe the city of California has never witnessed in the recent times. On July 23, a spark from a vehicle caused a pyre that has achieved gargantuan growth and is still gorging the city for the 9th day. Till now 1,13,000 acres of land has been consumed by the wildfire, 966 homes and buildings have been destroyed, 6 people were killed, 40,000 residents of the city have fled. Though 4,000+ fire fighters with 350+ fire engines and 17 helicopters are trying their level best, as of today only 30% of the wildfire has been contained. No one has any idea when the fire would be fully contained. The blaze is ablaze still.
