Recently, DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore held its Sixth Convocation Ceremony at its campus located at Othakkalmandapam. A total of 26 Graduates received their awards. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Niels Schoenfelder, Founder, Mancini Enterprises. He delivered the Graduation Day address in presence of Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Chairman, Governing Council, DJ Academy of Design.
In his address he stressed on the importance of aesthetics in Design and quoted Roland Bathe’s “Mythologies” and elaborated on how beauty affects the whole culture of the world.
Academics at DJAD are led by Prof. S.Balaram, Dean, an internationally reputed designer and Emeritus professor of CEPT University. Venkat Rao, Red dot Award Winner, Shiva Nallaperumal and Ramakrishna Saiteja; Winners of the most coveted Catalyst Award from the Society of Typographic Aficionados are among DJAD’s prestigious alumni.
DJAD has an academic collaboration with the Northumbria University in UK and is an educational member of World Design Organization.
