Flipkart Fashion drives big business for sellers across Tamil Nadu

Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, has consistently focused on democratising e-commerce through technology and has built an ecosystem which connects lakhs of local sellers to customers across India.

Flipkart has enabled these Made in India brands to address evolving needs through brand-building programmes that include logistics, quality control and mentoring. Over 45% of new customers experience Flipkart through fashion today and over the past year, thousands of sellers from the State of Tamil Nadu have experienced positive growth, with several success stories originating from cities like Tirupur. 

When it comes to enabling local sellers to build national brands, Flipkart has played a key role in several Tirupur-based success stories such as Fast Colours, Maniaclife, Smartees and Tripr to name a few. Many of these brands have doubled their growth over the past year, courtesy Flipkart’s marketplace. 

With a nuanced understanding of India’s fashion needs, Flipkart has played a role in generating employment opportunities in Tamil Nadu and helped local fashion sellers break the geographical boundaries to build a loyal customer base that spans the length and breadth of India. It has also played a key role in bringing visibility for a growing number of sellers in Tamil Nadu to more than 400 million registered Flipkart customers across India.
