PSG iTech honors high-performing faculty

PSG iTech organized Faculty Award Function to appreciate and honor the members of faculty, who made significant achievements in research during the period July-December 2021 recently.

G Chandramohan, the Principal, welcomed the gathering and spoke about the vibrant research culture in the college and highlighted the achievements made by faculty members like the publication of papers in reputed journals, patents, completion of online courses, and securing funding for research and conduct of conferences.

Especially, he acknowledged the support and necessary help offered by Alagar to all the members of the faculty to carry out their research work without any struggle. Later, he highlighted the achievements made by the chief guest. Further, E Malar, Professor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and coordinator of the event, presented the summary of awards and achievements.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Dr.J.S.Bhuvaneswaran, Director, PSG Super Speciality Hospital, Coimbatore, made an interesting presentation on “Mind Your Heart”. At the outset, he appreciated all the faculty members who received awards in various categories and motivated them to achieve more and bring more laurels to the college.

While talking about the seven steps of healthy living, he requested the participants to sleep for 6-8 hours, practice yoga, and do some form of physical exercise regularly to keep the mind and body fit. During his insightful speech, he requested the participants to stay away from negative thoughts as it steals their happiness and precious time.

Importantly, he requested the faculty participants to practice meditation daily and include vegetables and fruits in the regular diet to maintain healthy living. He made the session interesting and insightful with anecdotes from mythical stories and from his personal experience. P.V. Mohanram, Secretary offered his felicitations and requested the participants to practice meditation daily, which will keep the body and mind healthy.

M.Jothibasu, Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) and coordinator of the event, Dept. of ECE, proposed the vote of thanks. Around 47 members of faculty from various departments were honored for their commendable work.
