Electricity Minister of Tamil Nadu Senthil Balaji continued his visit to various parts of Coimbatore to meet people of the district, hold ‘Makkal Sabha’ meet and collect petition from people living in various parts of the district on Monday.
Minister Balaji was appointed by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K.Stalin recently as the Minister in charge for Coimbatore district to oversee and speed up ongoing public developmental works, to monitor the implementation of welfare schemes, and to undertake emergency works during natural calamities and spread of communicable diseases, etc.
On Monday firstly, he visited residents living near Saravanampatti at Vimal Jyothi Matriculation School Ground on Monday evening.
More than 150 people visited the school campus where the Makkal Sabha was held. DMK’s Coimbatore strongmen N. Karthik, Paiya Krishnan, Maruthamalai Senapathy were there with the Minister.
This Makkal Sabha initiative began on October 30. So far 44 places have been visited and 27,374 petitions have been received directly by the Minister, said
District Collector Dr. Sameeran who was present at the event.
“The petitions given in 44 places so far shows the trust the people have on Chief Minister MK Stalin. The petitioners have high hopes in getting their issues resolved. I assure you that all petitions will be handed over to the concerned Government departments, and swift actions will be taken by the officials and you will get the problems solved”
Totally 10 wards have been planned for visit, that include Saravanampatty, Maniyakaranpalayam, Sobha Nagar, Ganapathi, PN Palayam and Peelamedu.
