Institution of Value (IOV) in association with IOV registered valuer’s foundation (IOV RVF) hosted 51st Indian Valuers Congress (IVC- 2020) focussing on countering disruptions for a sustainable valuation profession in Coimbatore.P K Thiagarajan, President, IOV, Vinay K Goel, CEO & Managing Director , IOV and RVF, M Adaikkkalavan, Chairman, Coimbatore Branch, IOV addressed the media gathering at Coimbatore on December 11th, 2020.
Every year IOV is conducting the Indian Valuers Congress in major cities across the country which will deliberate on state of the art in Valuation and trends in Valuation practices. This year the 51st Indian Valuers Congress (IVS 2020) is being held in Coimbatore which is one of the important centers of IOV in a fast-developing economic hub of the country.
This is the first time the IVC is held in a Tier II city in southern India and it is a proud moment for Coimbatore that a truly national professional event in the Valuation sector is happening in our hometown. This also shows the importance of IOV is providing to emerging economic hubs for the promotion of professionalism in Valuation. Despite the pandemic, around 200 delegates have registered for the physical IVC and a similar number of delegates are participating in the Online program of the IOV which is telecast all over India.
Over 12 speakers including 2 International Valuation experts are presenting papers during the two-day event being conducted during 11th and 12th of December 2020 on contemporary topics and deliberate on emerging challenges and trends in valuation of different kinds of assets. This is the first time two eminent speakers from International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) which is the leading International Standards formulating body, are presenting papers on BASEL III norms for banking regulation and challenges in mortgage valuations for banks.
The two-day event is the first of its kind in this part of the country which is not only pride for Coimbatore but also a great opportunity for all the professional valuers to participate and upscale their skills in the Valuation of assets, addressed by the guests at the press meet.
The event will be addressed by M.S.Sahoo, Chairman, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, New Delhi Mr. Narayanaswamy, Chairman, Statutory Committee to Advise Government on Valuation matters, Professor of Finance, Indian Institute of Management, Banagluru will deliver the PC Goel Memorial Lecture which is the keynote presentation. Navrang Saini, Whole Time Director, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Board of India will deliver the special address on Valuation Standards P.K.Thiagarajan, President, IOV will preside over the Inaugural of the IVC 2020. Vinay Goel, CEO & MD of IOV Registered Valuers Foundation New Delhi will provide the presentation on Contemporary Valuation practices and regulatory mechanisms.
