On Monday evening, actor Vijay Sethupathi announced his official exit from the movie 800. Sethupathi was requested by respected people in the film industry and some folks in political arena that he should not don the role of Muthiah Muralitharan, who remains a controversial figure amidst Tamil Nadu. Sethupathi gave up the role and ended the debate.
But one Twitter user under the handle @ItsRithikRajh crossed the limits when he issued disgusting threats to the actor, saying that he will abuse the actor’s daughter. The account is now temporarily restricted but he is still out there freely. Many have said that severe punishments should be given to that person behind the tweet.
A few days ago, Cricketer MS Dhoni’s wife received a threatening post on her Instagram page, in which another user threatened to physically abuse Dhoni’s daughter. The guy behind the threat was a teenager in his 12th standard. He was arrested by the Gujarat Police.
The tweet against Actor Sethupathi was made on October 19, 2020 at 1 p.m. When Actress Kasturi voiced against the mean comment made by this anonymous user, she too was verbally abused.
This anonymity is the thing that keeps the trolls the courage to make cheap, disgusting comments on Social Media. When the government issues severe punishments to those who cross limits online, that will send a message to all the other lily-livered lunatics in the social media. These people should not be spared!
