Declare Covai as TN’s second capital-KGF requests CM

Through a communication, Kongu Global Forum requested the Chief Minister Edapaddi K.Palaniswami on Friday to consider declaring Coimbatore as the second capital of the State.

A letter signed by KGF’s Chairman A.Sakthivel and Vice Chairperson Vanitha Mohan was sent to the CM. In it, the forum pointed that Coimbatore is growing in infrastructure, facilities will be of State-of the-art and the city is also undergoing lots of developmental works under the smart-city program of the Government.

The future prospects of Coimbatore appears very bright, being a growing region with the equally flourishing industrial city of Tiruppur in the East, the letter underlined. It also mentioned about the Coimbatore International Airport and how it could aid in connecting KGF with national and International destinations.

  “Taking into consideration all its positivity, I requested our respected Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to consider and declare Coimbatore as the second capital of Tamil Nadu,” said A. Sakthivel, in a press release.
