SREC – GE Healthcare partner to set up Healthcare Innovation Lab

Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College and GE Healthcare inaugurated an advanced centre for innovation and research at SREC campus in Coimbatore on Monday.

The SREC-GE Healthcare Innovation and Research Lab will serve as an advanced center of innovation for students of SREC, helping them build expertise in the area of AI/ML and solve real-world healthcare challenges.

GE Healthcare will assign specific healthcare projects which will be executed by SREC students at this lab as well as provide internship opportunities for deserving students.

GE is supporting this centre with a one-time grant which is used to setup the necessary hardware and software tools required for the Innovation lab including state of the art graphic processors and GE’s Edison, an AI enabled, on – premise device that brings cloud infrastructure to a facility.

D. Lakshminarayanaswamy, Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust inaugurated the lab virtually.

Nalinikanth Gollakunta, MD, Dileep Mangsuli, CTO, GE Healthcare, South Asia, Girish Raghavan, VP, Software Engineering, Uma Parameswaran, Lean MBB, Technical Competency and EEDP Leader, University Collaboration were also present during this inauguration.
