Trump couldn’t stop calling COVID-19 as Chinese Virus

Donald Trump is a very interesting personality in the global arena and in the history of USA. His tweets are sometimes the most engaging content on Twitter and his official tweet on July 20 is a fine example of that.

During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Trump referred to the novel coronavirus as Chinese Virus. The World Health Organization and his own people in the Public Health Department advised against that kind of labelling a virus after a geography and stated that it could pave way to unintended and unexpected responses.

Trump tweeted that he has not called the coronavirus as such and advised his people to not hold a nation or its people responsible for the spread of the virus.

Though Trump restrained using that label and tweeted as if he is going to drop that, he simply could not. On Monday (IST), he tweeted “We are united in our effort to defeat the Invisible China Virus, and many people say that it is Patriotic to wear a face mask when you can’t socially distance. There is nobody more Patriotic than me, your favorite President!”

According to several international media, Donald Trump started wearing face-masks only on July 11 or July 12. Before that, he was never seen with it in any meetings.

Trump calling himself patriotic for wearing a mask is now making a buzz. He truly is an interesting global political figure and the internet wants more.
