Vanathi Srinivasan’s service to the poor appreciated by US Consulate

BJP-Tamil Nadu’s General Secretary and Founder of Kovai Makkal Sevai Maiyam Vanathi Srinivasan’s swift initiatives to help and feed the poor in Coimbatore during this COVID-19 crisis has reached the ears of United States Consulate in Chennai recently and they have acknowledged and appreciated her humanitarian services.

In their official Twitter handle, the US Consulate,Chennai shared their delight in knowing the Modi’s Kitchen Initiative of Vanathi Srinivasan, who is one of the Alumni of the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) program.

This program is overseen by the US State Department in which young and emerging political leaders around the world are chosen and taken to USA to provide them the opportunity to learn about international affairs by fostering thought-provoking interactions with each other and discussions with valuable resource persons. It must be mentioned that several important political personalities in our country have done this program in the past.

The US Govt Body noted that their alumna Vanathi Srinivasan has been feeding 500 people daily through her Modi’s Kitchen initiative and appreciated her. The kitchen feeds the tired and weary during this crisis period, while adhering to the guidelines and safety measures the Govt has prescribed.

Regarding this, when The Covai Mail spoke to her, Vanathi Srinivasan recollected that she was invited to do this ACYPL Program in 2010. She shared that she met several politicians in the US who belonged to Democratic Party and the Republican Party, learned how the US Govt and Politics runs. She said that through this program knowledge-exchange took place and many productive ideas were shared among the participants.

We learned from her that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also an alumnus of this ACYPL Program long time back. He stood near The White House’s gates once to click a picture during his program days. Vanathi said “The door he stood nearby to take a picture those days have now welcomed him with Red carpets. This shows the value, importance and trust our PM has earned not just in India but in the Global arena”

Talking about her Modi’s Kitchen Initiative, she said that it was led by her as directed by J.P.Nadda, President, BJP, and she considers that feeding the poor is an opportunity to serve the divine.“I feel humbled and honored to be appreciated by my Alma Mater”, she concluded.
