Coimbatore Corporation starts conducting Public Health Profile Survey

All residents in Covai will be questioned  on whether they have Cold, Cough and Fever 

The Government of Tamil Nadu is taking measures to bring COVID-19 under control. As per the order of the Govt., and the direction of Minister for Municipal Administration S.P.Velumani, the Greater Chennai Corporation announced that all the houses within its city limits will be visited daily by the GCC Staff over the next 90 days to survey for persons with COVID-19 Symptoms.

Since April 5 this exercise is in effect, reported the GCC. Every house will be surveyed to identify those who have symptoms of cough, fever and breathlessness. Patients with severe symptoms will be referred to Government Hospitals for further testing and treatment. The households will also be surveyed to identify people with hypertension, diabetes, age above 60 years old, pregnant women and patients with chronic illness.

In a similar fashion, on Monday, houses in Kuniyamuthur, Coimbatore were surveyed by staff of  Health Department of Coimbatore Corporation. Minister S.P.Velumani said that people will be asked about whether they have cold, cough and fever, and the same will be documented. He said this inspection will continue in Coimbatore in the coming days.
