Israel-India to discuss innovations and solutions in water management & agriculture

Two of the premier educational institutes in Coimbatore- PSG College of Technology and Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) are collaborating with Tel Aviv University, Israel to hold 2 day International Conference that will discuss water management & improving the quality of agriculture, and share best practices and solutions.

Israel is globally known for being a water superpower and Tel Aviv University has proven to be one of the world’s best universities to give more innovative concepts to needs of humanity. Not just in water, the Tel Aviv University scientists turned heads when they produced the world’s first 3D printed heart using human tissues.

On 29.1.2020 (Wednesday) and 30.1.2020 (Thursday), professors from this world’s finest university will join with members from the Indian Academia and with a representative from the farmers side to find answers in issues with Agriculture and Water.

Ahead of these workshops that will be held in KCT, Ms.Dana Kursh, Counsul General of Israel to South India was invited to attend the conference and workshops. She acknowledged Coimbatore for its strength in the field of manufacturing, medical and academia, Dana said that convening this workshop on water agriculture is about jointly thinking and working on how we can have sustainable cities. She expressed confidence on the expert-delegation who will deliver their insights and ideas in the conferences. “Innovation is the answer to our needs”, she emphasized.

About the Trade Relationship between the two countries, Dana said that it is growing. There is amazing potential. Her team in the consul was able to make business matchmaking that lead to 400 Million USD transaction between South India and Israel in 2018, she pointed.

She mentioned that in July 2017, PM Modi and Benjamin (Israel PM) launched a joint innovation initiative fund (of 40 Million USD) to help companies from the two countries to find solutions in water, agriculture, cyber security and health. She said Water and Agriculture are the two things that will be in focus and the delegation (of Israeli and Indian profs) will find additional ways to interact and additional things that will lead to benefit business in both countries.
