PSG College of Arts & Science (PSG CAS) organized a Short Film & Photography Competition on 08.01.2020 as a part of Coimbatore Vizha. Announcements were made online via Instagram by Coimbatore Vizha Organizers and PSG CAS sent the invite to colleges in Coimbatore 20 days ago.
46 short films and 59 photos were registered by not just students but by the interested public as well. 18 short films were shortlisted and were screened today. It was judged by Actor, Director and Writer Pavel Navageethan who was also the Chief Guest of the short film competition.
Short Film, Shambavi directed by T.Saaiganesh from PSG College of Technology won the Best Short Film award and Short film, Thaagam from A.V.C College won the Special Jury award. Prizes were distributed for various categories like Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Sound, Best Editor and Best Actor – Male & Female.
Ashwyn Warrier, Photographer, Graphic Designer and Film Maker was the Chief Guest and Judge for the photography competition themed ‘Preserving the Culture and Heritage of Coimbatore’ and ‘Street Photography of Coimbatore.’ Out of 60 entries from various colleges all over Tamil Nadu, prizes and awards were distributed to the winners in each theme including a Special Jury award.
