The Kerala Government presents the Harivarasanam Award every year since 2012 for the Best Music Artist. It has announced that legendary Tamil Nadu Music Director Ilaiyaraaja will be the recipient of this award this year. The announcement was made by Kadakampally Surendran, Minister of Tourism, Kerala.
Ilaiyaraaja will receive the prestigious award on January,2020 during a program at Sabarimala Sannidhanam. He will be given the plaque and a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh. This award was presented to famous playback singers P.Susila , S.P.Balasubramaniam, K.J.Yesudas and K.S.Chitra.
