Unsung Hero of Ganapathy dies at 84

N.Duraisamy,  Past Chairman, Thudiyalur Cooperative Agricultural Service Society (TUCAS) and Chairman of Selvam Agencies, Coimbatore passed away on 07.11.2019 at 11 a.m. He was born on June 21, 1936 in Ganapathy to humble parents.  He pursued his B.A. Degree from Government Arts and Science College, Coimbatore.

A man of generosity and good spirit, he was responsible for the formation of 7 branches of TUCAS, through which he saw the needs of farmers like loans, manures, fertilizers and pesticides are met regularly.

He became a Texmo Industries Motor Pumps Dealer and established Selvam Agencies in 1962 with the vision to enable every farmer and consumer to get quality products at a single place. A man of modesty and calmness, he was recalled by his employees as a cordial person who solves all conflicts easily.

He served as Coimbatore’s Honorary Magistrate and he was also responsible for the renovation and proper maintenance of various temples in Ganapathy that were in poor state. He made sure that the poojas take place properly.

He had 2 sons and 1 daughter. His elder son is Mr.D.Nandakumar, Former President, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore and Managing Director of Selvam Agencies.
