PSG CAS 1991-94 Batch celebrates Silver Jubilee Reunion

The 1991-1994 Batch of PSG College of Arts and Science held PSG CAS ReCALL-2019, its Silver Jubilee Reunion Celebrations on 10.8.2019 in the GRD Auditorium.

More than 600 alumni of the batch belonging to various disciplines attended the reunion.   D.Brindha, Principal, PSG CAS, V.Lakshminarayanasamy, President of the Alumni Batch and President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, R.Nandagopal, Past President of the Alumni Batch, Teachers and Office bearers of the Reunion Committee took part in the Reunion.

Prior to the formal commencement of the program, saplings were sown symbolically nurturing the bond between the Alumni and the college. Sivakumar, Convener of the Batch welcomed the gathering.  The Reunion saw the members paying homage to the departed souls of their batch mates and teachers.

V.Lakshminarayanasamy in his Presidential Address,conveyed that the alumni of the batch, are now successful professionals and entrepreneurs in various fields. He mentioned that the alumni association of the college has 12, 380 members and is adding approximately 1500 new alumni every year. He said the association organizes fundraisers and gets sponsorships to support the academic life of the needy students. In the current year, the association has contributed Rs.4 Lakhs as scholarship support.

D.Brindha, who is also an alumnus of the college, said that she finds the moment proud to address the alumni. She congratulated the organizing team for bringing together everyone of the batch. She mentioned about the college’s progress, highlighting its 17th position in NIRF 2019, 2nd in Swachhta Ranking 2018 under Residential College category. She said the campus offers a conducive environment for all students to grow to their fullest and mentioned her joy in being a part of their celebration.

R.Nandagopal in his address conveyed his greetings to the gathering and mentioned that PSG CAS is a rich college in terms of infrastructure but it keeps its door open to students from all walks of life. “PSG receives students from poor financial background every year, and you the alumni have been contributing every year. Extend it”, he requested.

During the event, the teachers of the batch were honored, a bus shelter, sponsored by the MathsDept Alumni of the batch, was unveiled outside the college. The members also donated blood to benefit the society and added value to the event.
