Driver’s negligence takes away 29 lives in Agra

A UPSRTC bus that was travelling from Lucknow which was on the way to Delhi, carrying around 50 passengers met with a severe accident on 8.7.2019 at 5 a.m.

29 people are now confirmed to be dead while the other injured are getting treated in hospital. The bus hit the divider and fell 40 feet down into the gap between two flyovers in the Yamuna Expressway.

Investigations made by the cops have revealed that the driver fell asleep while travelling on the highway and he lost control. A solatium of Rs 5 Lakhs has been announced by the UP Roadways and an investigation to what caused the bus to fall into the gap is underway. UP’s CM Yogi Adityanath has asked the officials to file an investigation report about the accident in 24 hours and he has also assigned the state’s Transport minister and Deputy CM to look into the issue and the injured.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Narendra Modi,via his Twitter account has said “Pained by the bus accident in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. I pray that those injured recover fast. The State Government and local administration are providing all possible assistance to the affected.”
