10,000 participants run marathon aimed for creating eco awareness

Asian Paints conducted a Go Green Marathon for the second time in Coimbatore on Sunday (June 23, 2019). Issac Kemboi from Kenya won the first prize in 10 Km, Men’s category.

Sujit Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore district inaugurated and flagged of the Marathon at Nehru Stadium, Mohan Kumar.R, Regional Manager and Raaj Varman, Area Manager of Asian Paints were present during the inauguration.
The marathon had two race categories 5Km and 10km that had the route started from Nehru stadium to Women’s Polytechnic and back. 5.30 am onwards. Conducting the event for a social cause, Asian Paints provided free entry to all the registered participants, t-shirts, kit & refreshments etc and also the organisers provided medals & certificates to all the participants.
About 10,000 participants from 12 to 60 years old took part in both the categories 5Km and 10Km Marathon. Both Male and female participants were seen in the Marathon with the go green message. All the participants received the free tree saplings distributed by the organisers followed by their prizes, medals and kit.
The Asian paints Go green marathon’s main motto is that younger generation should be more aware of go green and plant the saplings across the city and make the city green and clean. The Asian paints conducted this go green marathon only in Coimbatore in TamilNadu.
