B.Ed exam postponed to help students write TET

Along with the already qualified applicants, the students in Tamil Nadu who are pursuing their 2nd year B.Ed become eligible to write TNTET- Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test which is organized by the TRB- Teachers Recruitment Board. Earlier it was announced that the TET exams will be held on June 8 and 9.  Approximately 1.83 lakh aspirants will show up for TET paper 1 which is the eligibility test for primary teachers (secondary teachers) that was to be held on June 8, while more than 4.2 lakh candidates will appear for paper 2 which is the eligibility test for graduate teachers (upper primary classes) that was scheduled on June 9.

While it was not of much trouble to others, for the B.Ed students, unfortunately the B.Ed exams too were scheduled to occur on one of that date- 08.06.2019. This put the 2nd year B.Ed students on a terrible situation whether to appear for B.Ed exams or go for the TET; either way they would lose a valuable opportunity. So the students made it a request to the government to help them in this scenario.

The government, hearing the requests of the students has changed the date of B.Ed exam that falls on June 8 to June 13, so that the students can, without any worries, attend both the exams. This announcement comes from Mangat Ram Sharma IAS., Principal Secretary to Government, Department of Higher Education, Govt. Of Tamil Nadu.
