The Southern Railway and Integral Coach Factory (ICF), in association with CODISSIA and NSIC organized a ‘Vendor Development Meet’ recently.
The primary focus areas in the meet were to introduce new vendors in Railway Supply Chain, to include high value items in their product mix, handholding of new vendors by displaying their product lines and sharing information on specification of drawings and other facilities required or manufacturing, annual requirement , present rates and existing suppliers, item wise vendors approving agencies and existing approved vendors and vendor approval process, and also an open-house discussion on issues related to vendor development.
The Chie Guest of the event, V.K.Srivastava, Principal Executive Director, Ministry of Railways, New Delhi released a booklet on Vendors Meet. He also delivered the Keynote Address on the topic “Growth of Indian Railways – Opportunities for Vendors”
