Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural Univesity, Coimbatore has been conferred “Fellow of the Society for Promotion of Horticulture” on the eve of foundation day of Society for Promotion of Horticulture on held at Indian Insitute of Horticultural Research (ICAR), Bengaluru.
The award was conferred to him for his outstanding contribution in field of Horticulture. He has led twenty externally funded projects and played an active role in the development of 10 improved crop varieties and many technocrafted horticultural production technologies. His research contributions in drip fertigation technologies formed the basis for launching of the precision farming scheme by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
