Western Ghats School Children save 14 trees from being cut

The Nature Club of The Western Ghats International School (TWGIS) is known for its firm commitment towards preserving nature. The student-members of the club are known to be ecologically conscious as well. When 20 trees were to be cut to establish the school’s new playground, the club members rather advised to replant the trees thereby and save the trees.

Syed of OSAI, an environmental NGO, guided the students in the process of replanting the trees. With the help of the machines JCB and Crane, trees were uprooted with roots intact with the mother soil and replanted cautiously in the seven feet depth pits. Furthermore, it is heartening to witness the prayers of students and teachers by planting the tree with the mother soil and watering them for their new lease of life.

Twelve year old 13 coconut trees and 1 pungan tree were re-planted. Syed and Green Chavadi Members were instrumental in saving the trees. Public can call for free tree replanting for Mr.Syed at 84288 59911.
