Knowledge is the First Area of Attack -Vignesh Sornamohan

Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science for Women saw the inauguration of National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Club. The chief guest on the occasion was Vignesh Sornamohan, Chief Strategic & Outreach Officer, NDLI. Present alongside him were K.Chitra, Principal and R.Shyamala, Librarian, SRCAS for Women. The NDLI program was launched on June 19th, 2018 by the HRD Ministry.

The chief guest spoke at length about the struggles he faced when he went to study at Delhi and how he took tuitions to make both ends meet. He is also the founder of a mobile application, which helps aspiring IAS officers prepare for their exams. Talking about NDLI, Vignesh Sornamohan stressed upon the fact that one needs to read beyond textbooks for gaining knowledge.

He also showed the NDLI website as well as how to search for the same to the gathering present. Explaining about the greats like G.D. Naidu, he said that those who are less educated or not educated are the ones who are the most literate. The chief guest ended his speech by urging students to register themselves at the NDLI website and regularly read to make sure that their learning is not halted after completion of college.
