Siruthuli, an organization well-known for taking enormous efforts in rescuing water bodies with the traditional water management techniques, in the restoration of the ground water level and the lives of lakes and ponds etc., recently held a session about cleaning our houses with natural methods at the Siruthuli office. This seminar cum hands on session was taken by Sangeetha Subash who is a member of the Siruthuli.
Sangeetha Subash in her lecture said “All the foam we use gets contaminated and spoils the water bodies and Sea. When we witness it, we immediately blame the Government for it. But this is not the truth, each and every one of is responsible for this. All of us have shifted from natural cleaning to chemical cleaning, the foam we generate from dish wash, laundry, hair-wash has so much foaming agents which gets more concentrated in the ocean in summer due to evaporation of water. In Coimbatore we protested to not to open of our check dams since the toxicity in the water is so high that the farmers were afraid that their entire farm land will be spoiled.
We have around 52 harmful chemicals in our everyday cleaners we use. These cleaners kill all the gut bacteria and when we use sanitizers, we also kill our gut bacteria. When we use natural cleaners, we bring in more positivity into our homes since we create many good microbes. They act on breaking down the dirt. We can’t use it like the chemical products, we need to give it sometime to act on the dirt and surface. We can get maximum results out of it. All the dishwashing agent, detergent and hand wash can even be made by us naturally.”
Sangeetha subhash in this event, gave hands on training to the participants about the procedure and preparation of bio-enzyme, homemade dish wash powder, hand-wash powder and multiuse cleaner. She explained how to make use of it and about how to make it. These can be made just by ash, orange peels, Lemons and ingredients which are available at our houses.
