RCAS Observes National Pollution Control Day

Rathinam College of Arts and Science took proactive steps to commemorate National Pollution Control Day on December 22, 2023, within the college campus. The event aimed to raise awareness about pollution control through various engaging activities.

Competitions, including face painting and a ‘Wealth out of Waste’ contest, were conducted, revolving around the theme of pollution control. As part of the awareness initiative, pollution emission certificates for all college student vehicles were meticulously verified.

A seminar on pollution control was a key feature of the event, with Er. D. Pricilla, Assistant Engineer from the Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board, Coimbatore South, serving as the resource person. Er. D. Pricilla elucidated the importance of pollution control and shed light on the utilization of traditional yellow bag (manja pai), an initiative of Government of Tamil nadu.

Certificates were awarded to the winners of the competitions, adding a celebratory touch to the event. A significant highlight was the inauguration of Brand ‘Thennai Veedu,’ launching “Trendy Tenders Coconut Drink” a startup initiated by RCAS college students, mentored by Dr. V. Rajalakshmi, Assistant Professor of Commerce and Mr. Bhaarathi, Head of Rathinam Startup School.
