PSG iTech holds conference on Cyber Physical Systems

The two day inauguration of 2023 IEEE Technically Sponsored International Conference on Intelligent Technologies for Sustainable Electric and Communications Systems was held at PSG iTech, Coimbatore on December 18 and 19.

This conference, over the two days, provided a common platform for faculty members, researchers, industry experts and students to discuss the advances in recent trends of electric and communication systems, with emphasis on Cyber Physical Systems. Out of 328 papers submitted, 105 were accepted for presentation.

Vijayakumar, HoD-ECE, welcomed the gathering. He highlighted the evolution of communication systems and advancements in sensors, IoT and cyber-physical systems. C.L. Vasu, HoD-EEE, introduced the conference and also highlighted the importance of cyber-physical systems with sustainable solutions. He pointed out that the young engineers should take part in professional gatherings like the conferences where they get an opportunity to interact with experts from industry or academia.

Principal of PSG iTech,  N. Saravanakumar, while delivering the presidential address, stressed the need for sustainable solutions as the society moves from IC Engines to Electric Vehicles. He also highlighted the contribution of Internet-of-Things and Industry 4.0. He urged students to work on research problems which may lead to publication and innovative products that can be patented.

Porkumaran, Chairman, IEEE Madras Section & Principal, Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai, congratulated the organizers of the conference for their meticulous planning and briefed about the various funding opportunities for the students and faculty members available from IEEE.

The Chief-guest of the conference, R. Rudramoorthy, Director – PSG CARE, delivered the Inaugural address. He emphasized that the institutes are ranked based on the intellectuals they produce, who will take-up the leading roles in global industries and become role models for the young generation. He motivated the participants and students by mentioning the recent success story of Chandrayaan-3. Finally, P. Vetrivelan, Associate Professor, ECE, delivered a vote of thanks.

The keynote speakers were Wasif Naeem, Associate Professor, School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Queen’s University Belfast, UK and Gunasekaran Thangavel, Professor, University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Muscat. The presentation session chairpersons were Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore.

The valediction event was held at 4:00 pm on 19th December 2023 and certificates and prizes were distributed.
