New Passport Application Guidelines

 

The Ministry of External Affairs has revised the documents accepted as proof of Date of Birth for passport applications. Effective immediately, the following documents are recognized: 1. Birth Certificate from authorized authorities. 2. Transfer/School leaving/Matriculation Certificate. 3. Policy Bond from Life Insurance Corporations/Companies. 4. Service record extract or Pension Pay Order for government servants. 5. Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) without restrictions. 6. PAN card. 7. Driving License from State Transport Departments. 8. Declaration from the Head of the Orphanage/Child care home.

Aadhaar Card is no longer accepted for Date of Birth proof, only as an address proof. Birth Certificate becomes mandatory for those born on or after October 1, 2023. Use only the official [passportindia.gov.in](https://passportindia.gov.in) website for passport-related matters.
