Leister Group’s Weldy Brand Ignites Local Production

Switzerland’s Leister Group inaugurated its Indian engineering and production facility, “Weldy Technologies India Pvt. Ltd.,” in Coimbatore on November 23rd. Recognizing India as a pivotal market, the Leister Group aims to meet the surging demand for its “Weldy” brand products. The facility locally manufactures hot air hand tools and automatic plastic welding machines, catering to applications like tent and tarpaulin production, advertising banners, and more.

Operating under a “Make in India for India” strategy, Weldy Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. creates Weldy-branded products tailored to local needs. Martin Zingg, CEO of the Leister Group, expressed the company’s dedication to serving Indian customers better: “The Weldy brand stands for functionality and quality: Simple, good, affordable. Our goal is to develop and manufacture new Weldy products in India, creating attractive jobs in Coimbatore.”

Christiane Leister, President of the Board of Directors, highlighted the company’s longstanding presence in India since 1987. The establishment of Leister Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai in 2012 marked a significant step, and the company has since expanded its reach with regional sales and service centres in major cities across the country.

The inauguration witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries including Bruno von Wyl, Leister, Group CTO/Weldy India Project Director, Ruediger Schroeder, M+V Altios, Director Weldy India, Arun Kumar, Managing Director, Patrick Mueller, Deputy Consul of Switzerland, Banglore.
