Toyota inks MoU with Gov. of Karnataka

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Karnataka, investing around INR 3,300 crores to enhance its operations and build a new plant in Bidadi. Celebrating 25 years in India, this marks TKM’s commitment to “Make in India” and “Atma Nirbhar Bharat.” The investment aims to boost local manufacturing, create 2,000 jobs, and contribute to the state’s EV initiatives. TKM’s CEO, Yoshimura, emphasized the company’s positive outlook on the Indian market and its focus on sustainability. This move aligns with TKM’s past contributions, including INR 16,000 crores in investment, 88,000 jobs, and cumulative exports of approx. INR 30,000 crores. The company’s future focus includes clean and green technology, aiming for Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
