In view of Stroke Day, GKNM Hospital celebrated the same in a grand manner. The event began with a prayer song followed by a Welcome Address which was delivered by Sundarajan, RMO, GKNM Hospital. The event also saw a Special address by Dr.S.Natarajan, Head, Dept.of Cardiology, GKNMH.
There were doctors present from the Neuro- Department and spoke on what is stroke, causes of stroke and ways to prevent it. Doctors present at the event were- Dr. G.Gnanashanmugam, Consultant, Neurologist, Dr. K.ArunaDevi, Consultant, Neurologist, Dr.Rasmiranjan Padhi, Consultant, Neuro- Intervention Radiologist,Dr. R. Bala Senthil Kumaran, Consultant, Neuro Surgeon and Dr.R.Murali, Consultant, Neuro Surgeon GKNMH.
The event also saw Dr.Arya who joined the hospital recently as a speech therapist introduces herself to the audience. She shared her knowledge on speech therapy and gave a few tips on how to get back the normal flow of speech after a stroke.
There were stroke patients present during the event who testified on how doctors at GKNM worked selflessly and tirelessly because of which they got a new lease of life. The event ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Veena, Transplant Manager, GKNM Hospital.
