TNAU conducted training on promoting Agri enterprises

The Agri-Business Incubation Society (ABIS) – Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Directorate of Agribusiness Development, TNAU, Coimbatore conducted a two-day training on “Promoting Agri Enterprises support to Agri entrepreneurs” in coordination with the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agri Business (DAMAB) under Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernisation Project (TNIAMP) on 11th & 12th April 2023. About 22 entrepreneurs in Food, Agriculture and allied sectors from Thiruvannamalai and Cuddalore districts participated in the training programme.

Sundareswaran, Professor, DABD inaugurated the training and addressed the importance of value addition for increasing the revenue of the farming community. Gnanasambandam, CEO – ABIS and Dr.M.Malarkodi, Associate Professor (ARM) & Training Coordinator present at the training.

The training was focussed on business plan preparation, cost of a business plan, investment planning and analysis, support and services offered by Technology Business Incubator and hands-on training on organic farming inputs preparation. After this training, the eligible trainees will be financially supported for setting up new processing, value addition and packing facilities with a maximum of Rs.5 lakhs and TNIAMP will support with a subsidy of Rs.2 lakhs, bank loans of Rs.2 lakhs and the remaining Rs.1 lakh as promoter contribution.

With the technical support of TNAU, the TNIAMP and DAMAB has proposed to conduct similar training in 66 river sub-basins all over Tamil Nadu.
