Days to see Indian flights fly with bio-duel not so far

India’s SpiceJet Airlines successfully tested a flight that ran on biofuel on Monday. This testing was done in the airspace of Dehradun in the presence of personnel from both SpiceJet and Directorate General of Civil Aviation We live in a time where fuel prices are soaring and the battle for supremacy to sell oil to different countries during a time of trade war. This successful testing surely adds strength to our nation; for this bio-fuel is indigenous. Yes, this bio-fuel was made in Indian Institute of Petroleum that is in Dehradun. A crop named Jatropha was the raw material for obtaining this valuable resource. The rivals of SpiceJet stated in the past that they will test and use bio-fuel in their flights but later on cancelled this concept. Already the U.S. and Australia are running flights that are powered by bio-fuels. If India follows their footsteps, it will then emerge as the third nation ever to use such a concept in its aviation industry. In the distant future, India will turn towards biofuels because of the rising price levels in fuels and also to curb pollution caused by airlines.
