-Ukraine’s President tells citizen

Following Ukrainian President Zelenskiy’s video message to his people to be ready to face Russia’s storming of Kyiv, a series of explosions were heard in the capital on Saturday.

Ukrainian Government asked its people to stay indoors after the fight broke out on the streets. News reports stated that Russia has accepted Ukraine’s offer to hold talks, including on a neutral stance regarding NATO.

Also, Russian President Putin has urged Ukraine’s military to remove the country’s government from power.

“Russia vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution on Friday that would have deplored Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. Eleven member states voted for the resolution, while India, China, the United Arab Emirates abstained from the vote,” Scroll reported.

On Saturday, President Zelenskiy refused US’s request and offer to evacuate Kyiv. He reportedly said “The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride,” reported AP citing a senior American intelligence official familiar with direct knowledge of the conversation.

Update:

President Zelenskiy released a selfie video on social media Saturday moments ago, where he is seen in Kyiv telling”I am here. We will not lay down any weapons. We will defend our State because our weapons are our truth,” he declared, denouncing as disinformation claims that he had surrendered or fled.

“A lot of fake information has appeared on the internet saying that I allegedly called on our army to lay down its arms and that evacuation is underway,” he said outside his office.
