Chess Prodigy Master Daakshin Arun, Std 7 of Velammal Main School, Mogappair Campus has been ranked No. 1 in India and No. 3 in Asia in the (U-12) age category by FIDE (International Chess Federation) recently. He acquired the title Candidate Master for the live FIDE rating 2173.
A press release from the institution said that Daakshin won in various tournaments at the National and International Forum in all formats and this helped him achieve this high rank.
