PM Modi-led govt. ended discrimination faced by J&K women

– Vanathi Srinivasan, National President, BJP Mahila Morcha

National President of BJP Women’s Wing (Mahila Morcha) and MLA from Coimbatore South Constituency Vanathi Srinivasan has been in Ladakh and various parts of Kashmir since October 9 to hold meetings and interactions with the Women’s wing units there.

At a meeting in Srinagar with the Women’s Wing members, Vanathi expressed that Narendra Modi led BJP government at the centre has given honor and pride to the women in Jammu and Kashmir. She also added that an era of discrimination of women there has come to an end after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A, a FB post from BJP J&K mentioned.

“What could not be done in seventy years for women, Narendra Modi government did in a day, which has given them dignified life now. Vanathi Srinivasan said that J&K was the only state in India which had a very strange provision which deprived the daughters of the soil of their rights over property if they were married to other state or UT, which was most unfortunate and unjustified too,” BJP J&K reported on Vanathi’s address.

She met and consoled the family members of Supinder Kour – the principal of a government school in Eidgah locality of the city who was killed very recently by Militants of The Resistance Front (TRF) on the premises of the government school.

Vanathi then attended BJP Mahila Morcha Ladakh Office Bearers & State Executive Commitee Meeting along with BJP Ladakh State President Jamyang Tsering Namgyal. Vanathi interacted with Women’s Wing members of Kargil, Zanskar, Nubra and Leh Districts.
