Along with this widening plans, the Govt has plans to lay a four-lane road from Kurumbapalayam in Coimbatore District to Sathyamangalam in Erode District, from where two-lane road will be upgraded till Bannari. With the support of District Administrations in Coimbatore and Erode, the National Highways Authority of India would acquire 731 acres of land for the four-lane road project.

In a press release, ICCIC President conveyed that the two-lane Coimbatore -Sathyamangalam Road has been witnessing heavy traffic during the peak hours and in some places, the road is very narrow and accidents are also common on the stretch.
