Arun Jaitley’s Rs.15 lakh worth statue to be unveiled today – Report

According to news reports, Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to unveil a 6 foot tall statue of former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, New Delhi, on Monday afternoon.

This unveiling is reported to take place during Jaitley’s 68th Birth Anniversary. “As of now, Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to unveil the statue at around noon on Monday, with Arun Jaitley’s family, Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Anurag Thakur, Indian cricket board president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah, and former India and Delhi captains Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, who is also an MP, likely to be present on the occasion,” a source told IANS.

This is done to honor Jaitley who was the president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) for 14 years from 1999 to 2013. The statue weights 800 kgs and costs Rs. 15 lakhs. It was reported that the statue has been designed by the same organization that designed Sardar Patel’s Statue of Unity.
