Towards the goal of planting 20,000 sapling in Covai

In a bid to increase the green cover of Covai and help reduce air pollution, Chandrans Yuva Foundation (CYF) joined hands with 105 RAF – (Rapid Action Force) and planted 550 saplings in the latter’s campus at Vellaloor on Monday. This is a part of a larger plan to plant around 20,000 saplings.

CYF conveyed that in the 105 RAF campus, a separate wing is operated to maintain, safe guard and grow the saplings in the proper way. CYF’s Go green Ambassador Dr. Manimekalai Mohan, Chief Guests Jayakrishnan,  105 RAF Commandant, Vidya Jayakrishnan, 105-RAF Women Empowerment planted the saplings. Members of Rotary Club of Coimbatore Aakurthi also made contributions in this initiative.

The force’s Second-In-Command S. K. Dubey, Deputy-Commandant G. Dinesh,  CYF’s Founder& Managing Trustee Sivanesan, Chairperson & CEO Shashikala and Director Ponnusamy were present in the event. Proper social distancing norms were followed and hand sanitizing preparations were made.
