Close liquor shops in Tamil Nadu permanently – Vanathi Srinivasan requests CM

BJP Tamil Nadu General Secretary Vanathi Srinivasan requested the Tamil Nadu Government to not allow liquor shops in the State to open as announced on May 7. She stated that  home-makers and women in Tamil Nadu welcomed Government closing the liquor shops during the lockdown and many expect the shutters to be locked  forever.

On Monday (4.5.2020) the Government of Tamil Nadu mentioned that people from the State are frequenting Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka as they have opened liquor shops earlier. These visits are creating unnecessary traffic and movement among the States and it is being difficult to control it. Due to that, the TN Govt said that it will open liquor shops from May 7,2020 onward.

Vanathi Srinivasan said that  women and homemakers in Tamil Nadu slept in peace after the liquor shops were closed and if the Govt opens it now, it would add to their woes. She said that the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu knows about the hardships women in rural/village areas face due to liquor shops and she requested him to order the closure of the shops in entire State. She said such a bold move will make be remembered in history as an icon.

She urged the CM to decide soon and pointed that the people are prepared to work more and hard to raise the economy of the State.
